Media Authorization

MEDIA AUTHORIZATION: I authorize the Hessel Foundation to photograph, video record, or audio record me during volunteer activities and to use my name, image, likeness, voice, and statements for lawful educational, fundraising, promotional, social media, and public-relations purposes without compensation.

Volunteer Liability Waiver & Acknowledgment

I understand that I am serving as a volunteer and not as an employee of the Hessel Foundation. I understand that volunteer activities may involve inherent risks, including personal injury, illness, property damage, or other loss. To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law, I knowingly and voluntarily assume the risks associated with my participation and release and hold harmless the Hessel Foundation and its directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, and event partners from claims arising from my participation, except to the extent a claim cannot lawfully be waived. I agree to follow all safety instructions and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents.

Volunteer Code of Conduct

As a Hessel Foundation volunteer, I agree to:

Treat every guest, participant, child, family member, staff member, and fellow volunteer with dignity, kindness, and respect.
Follow the direction of Foundation staff and event leads, arrive on time, and remain at my assigned post unless excused.
Not use or be under the influence of alcohol, tobacco/vaping products, or illegal substances while on duty.
Keep confidential any personal or medical information I learn about participants and their families.
Use respectful language, dress appropriately for my role, and represent the Foundation professionally, including online.
Promptly report any injury, unsafe condition, or concern to a Foundation staff member.

I understand that the Foundation may end my volunteer service at any time if I do not follow this Code of Conduct.

Child Protection & Background Screening

The Hessel Foundation is committed to the safety of every child and vulnerable adult we serve. As a volunteer, I agree to:

Never be alone, out of sight of other adults, with a minor who is not my own child (the “two-adult rule”).
Not contact minor participants outside of Foundation activities, including by phone, text, or social media.
Not photograph or record minors except as authorized by the Foundation.
Use appropriate, respectful physical contact only, and follow staff direction during all youth activities, including the Ritz & Glitz Youth Runway.
Immediately report any suspected abuse, neglect, or inappropriate behavior to Foundation staff and, as required by Florida law, to the Florida Abuse Hotline at 1-800-962-2873.

Volunteers who work with or around minors may be required to complete a background screening before serving. The Foundation may decline or end any volunteer placement based on screening results or concerns for participant safety.
